You do not have to look long or far to see that this world is devastatingly broken, wandering in lustful wonder and in such dire need of truth – truth that many have misplaced or even rejected. In order to truly understand this life and the God who created and sustains it, it will take pursuing to know God through His Word. Tragically, untold millions today are living blindly due to this great and vital lack of Truth.
Make Knowing God Through His Word a Top Priority
Sisters, knowing and sharing the Truth starts with each of us! As a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, going to God and His Word should be an ongoing, life-strengthening priority. Yet, I completely understand and personally experience the struggle of keeping first things first! There are gobs of distractions clanging loudly for our attention, right?
I have to constantly remind myself to say no to all my phones notifications screaming for me to notice them in order to commit my first moments of the day to loving prayer and Bible reading. Share your similar distractions with a friend because we need each other to nudge one another along in our faith journeys!
Call me naïve, but I’m honestly praying that these posts will inspire you to fall deeper in love with God and His Word. Join me in a passionate pursuit to seek God more fully through His Word.
• To begin, I want to simply encourage you to pray the following prayer each day:
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. Ephesians 1:17 NIV
Stop a moment now and seek your Heavenly Father in prayer. Ask for wisdom and revelation to better know Him. And remember, you can always settle for the shallows, but jumping into the deep is where an abiding abundance of joy is found.
Questions to Ponder:
• Why do you think knowing truth is vital for your life? Seriously give this some thought and name at least three reasons that will motivate you.
• I want to encourage you to speak with someone close to you and express your desire and commitment to knowing God and His truth more fully. This is an important step because it will give you extra support and hold you accountable to your intentions.
