Are You at Your Wits End?

Do you have an aching heart today? I believe that this poem that I read in Streams in the Desert, a daily devotional reading, may be just for you. I am praying for you, dear Sister. I am so sorry that your heart is heavy.

I love you. ~Amy

Wits End

“Wits’ End Corner”
By Antoinette Wilson

Are you standing at “Wits End Corner,”
Christian with troubled brow?

Are you thinking of what is before you,
And all you are bearing now?

Does all the world seem against you,
And you in the battle alone?

Remember— at “Wits’ End Corner”
Is just where God’s power is shown.

Are you standing at “Wits’ End Corner,”
Blinded with wearying pain,
Feeling you cannot endure it,
You cannot bear the strain,
Bruised through the constant suffering,
Dizzy, and dazed, and numb?

Remember — at “Wits’ End Corner”
Is where Jesus loves to come.

Are you standing at “Wits’ End Corner”?
Your work before you spread,
All lying begun, unfinished,
And pressing on heart and head,
Longing for strength to do it,
Stretching out trembling hands?

Remember —at “Wits’ End Corner
The Burden Bearer stands.

Are you standing at “Wits’ End Corner”?

Then you’re just in the very spot
To learn the wondrous resources
Of Him who fails you not:

No doubt to a brighter pathway
Your footsteps will soon be moved,
But only at “Wits’ End Corner”
Is the “God who is able” proved.

“…They were at their wits’ end. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble,
and he brought them out of their distress. He stilled the storm to a whisper;
the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven. Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men.” Psalm 107: 27-31

I need help. I’m a lifegroup leader and we just started the Bible Study “Pursuit” . I must admit I am at a loss as how to teach this. I go over the videos and we watch the videos but I’m just not sure how to teach it especially with just one question at the end of Amy’s video. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

      Pamala,

Thank you sister for leading a Pursuit group.

We will take your question to help us create the next study.

For now, let me offer some guidance.

      1) Consider watching the videos ahead of time and noted what stood out to you. In your group time, share your thoughts and ask for their thoughts too.

      2) Review the homework in your small group. Talk about their answers. Watch the video at the end to kick start the following week. 🙂 If no one dos their homework, just go over one day of the work and do it aloud – together.

      I hope that is helpful!
      Praying for your group now.
